ZCAS-M.I.T: An Introduction

 

The ZCAS-MEDIA AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CLUB (ZCAS-M.I.T), is an upcoming extra-curricular activity group found at the Zambia Centre for Accountancy Studies University (ZCAS-U) in Lusaka Zambia.

It was created by two of the University students by the names of Remnant Chilufya and Wezi Mushingwani, from an idea that came up during a conversation late last year, in the second semester of the 2021 academic calendar. At that time, extra-curricular activities on campus appeared to have taken a hold.

After exchanging ideas and concepts during the course of the December/January holiday, the two got to work early this year (2022) to have their idea approved and that’s pretty much how ZCAS-M.I.T was formed. 

Now that this has been finalised, we can finally look into what the club is all about and what it plans on achieving through its existence.

ZCAS-M.I.T, as the name states is a club orientated towards Media and IT related activities. Its objective is to create an environment where students can interact, learn and collaborate with one another over the above mentioned topics regardless of their Academic Major.

Topics and activities are to range on everything from Computer programming, gaming, story and article writing as well the Arts.

 All this is made possible through the club’s two divisions, namely the Media and IT divisions with interested members being free to associate with whichever division they choose as they participate in club presentations, events as well as skill sharing sessions to share expertise.

The club hopes to expose talents and skills of students in fields such as media, IT & Arts as well as entrepreneurship ventures in order to help promote innovation and talents of the student population.

They hope to do this as a medium through which students can reach to a wider audience as well as the corporate world for potential collaboration/employment opportunities.

The last objective would be to promote student awareness over school related activities and programs in order to have a better informed student population as well as being a means of leisure and entertainment.
